Director Peter Mackey to speak at Waterfront Urban Design International Forum in Jiaxing, China

Chapman Taylor Director Peter Mackey will be speaking at the Waterfront International Design Forum in Jiaxing, China on 22 October.

Peter will be discussing the design of waterfront public spaces, referencing key Chapman Taylor waterfront developments such as MediaCityUK, Guishan Island, Liverpool Waters and Shanghai Media City. The theme of his presentation, which is scheduled for 1.30pm, will be “Returning the waterfront to the public realm.”

The event, which will take place at the Jiaxing Kingford Hotel, will bring together figures from the property sector to discuss the latest ideas in waterfront design, specifically how waterfront areas can be employed optimally to bring social and economic vitality to surrounding areas.

Chapman Taylor has extensive experience of creating a diverse range of attractive and sustainable waterfront developments throughout the world, including award-winning marinas, urban mixed-use schemes, digital technology hubs and large-scale resorts.

With over 25 years’ professional experience, Peter is responsible for Chapman Taylor’s Interior design projects across China.

He qualified in 1993 from Sheffield University with a Diploma in Architecture and spent several years working in the UK and Hong Kong before moving to Shanghai in 1997.

Peter has worked with Chapman Taylor in China since 2007, is one of the founding Directors of our Shanghai studio, and has delivered some of Chapman Taylor’s largest and most successful projects.
