Senior Architect (Bangkok)

Location of work: Chapman Taylor Bangkok office. (BTS Ratchadamri)

Job Summary:

A creative leader who will be responsible for designing and delivering world-class projects around South East Asia for our international clients. You should already be in a position of responsibility, leading teams and organizing projects and be familiar with local regulations and international standards. We are looking for a proactive candidate who will be responsible for the design and coordination of multiple mixed-use developments in South East Asia from concept to construction. Good command of English is required.

Job Description / Responsibilities:

• Take responsibility for the organization of the work, team and resources for the successful delivery of the projects.
• Meet deadlines & ensure quality is achieved on projects.
• Ensure that the team is focused on achieving high-quality design, using international standards and delivering to targets.
• Mentor junior designers, transfer knowledge, coach and encourage good procedures, key techniques and best practices.
• Coordinate any specific demands from clients with the rest of the consultants and technical teams.
• Responsible for organizing material for presentations & design submissions.
• Review project progress, design elements, technical drawings, construction details and specifications and supervise quality regularly and periodically.
• Constant contact with product suppliers, materials, furniture and equipment for the latest information.
• Develop projects with international design standards for delivery of high-quality buildings.
• Site monitoring and supervision support as required for completion of the projects.

Candidate qualification:

• Male / Female. Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related fields.
• Min 8-10 years’ experience in International Projects or large-scale developments.
• Good knowledge of local codes and regulations.
• Good design principles and clear communication skills are essential.
• Strong advanced computer design skills. Ability to use Revit, AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Photoshop and InDesign.
• Knowledge of parametric design or form-finding skills with Revit and Rhino would be a positive advantage.
• Tracking latest design trends and passion for design quality and excellence. Knowledgeable of the latest world innovations and happenings in the design industry.
• Strong leadership, self-organization and coordination skills. High integrity, problem solving and initiative.
• Commercial office, hospitality, residential and/or retail experience preferred.
• Good command of both spoken and written English.
• Thai National only.
