Exciting residential design used to create home of former Chapman Taylor Partner

The home of one of Chapman Taylor’s original partners, John Taylor has made national news with its idiosyncratic design that stands the test of time.

The house is a mix of unusual yet traditional design elements with quirky features and contemporary fixtures.

John Taylor designed and built Castell Gyrn in north Wales in 1977 and the medieval building has attracted attention from the media due to its grandeur and contemporary amenities like the cinema room and underfloor heating not usually typical in old folly buildings. The six bedroom home also boasts an extraordinary wooden fire breathing dragon at the entrance.

Bob Chapman, John Taylor and Jane Durham formed Chapman Taylor Partners in 1959.
