Detailed plans are submitted for the redevelopment of Brent Cross Shopping Centre

Chapman_Taylor_Living Bridge Final Half Res 140317

Chapman Taylor & Callison RKTL have designed the proposed development that will double the size of the current Brent Cross Shopping Centre, which opened over 40 years ago in 1976, transforming it into a 2 million sq.ft. world-class retail led mixed-use destination.

Brent Cross London is the northern element of the wider £4.5bn regeneration plan for Brent Cross and Cricklewood, for which Hammerson and Standard Life Investments secured outline planning consent back in 2010. Now a detailed planning submission for the £1.4bn regeneration has been submitted to Barnet Council for the refurbishment and extension to the shopping centre, introducing over 200 new retail stores, a new department store, 60 restaurants and a state-of- the- art cinema complex, hotel accommodation, a new town square, a new bus station and improved public realm and transport links.

A new living bridge, a green landscaped thoroughfare that was granted detailed planning consent in 2015, will cross the North Circular creating a garden walk joining Brent Cross Shopping Centre and the regeneration area to the South.

Work on the development could start onsite during the summer of 2018 subject to detailed planning consents.
